X-Rayed! Valentino Rockstud Rouge Campaign

Since I started this blog I look at seasonal campaigns with a new perspective. That’s why I’ve been so impressed watching the Valentino Rockstud Rouge Campaign by Terry Richardson.
Without knowing it was shot by a super famous photographer I stared at it instantly as I turned an Elle Italy page!
The luminous red put on the white background captures the attention at the first glance. Then, you realize it’s the tattooed hand  of Terry Richardson holding the shoulder bag and the slingback.
At first I found it almost shocking for its tension, and the sense of the shot couldn’t be clearer.
It’s all about  sensuality and femininity. And it’s about possessing what you want.
So, looking well, the two items represent a woman:
– The bag is her sensual side, the object of desire being grabbed by its admirer.
– The slingback is her classy but pragmatic side, quickly catched by this modern gentleman.

Surely, Valentino‘s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli know their target. This campaign goes straight to the young fashionistas generation, the ones who want to be different, aggressive and still stay elegant.
The creative couple has to be complimented not only  for their creative works, but also for the choice they made in choosing who could best spread the new message of the brand.

Da quando ho creato il blog, guardo le campagne stagionali da una nuova prospettiva. Ecco perchè sono rimasta così impressionata dalla Rockstud Rouge Campaign di Valentino, firmata Terry Richardson.
Senza sapere chi avesse curato la campagna, non ho potuto trattenermi dal rimanere imbambolata una volta girata quella pagina di Elle Italia.
Il rosso acceso, sullo sfondo bianco, cattura l’attenzione al primo sgaurdo.
Dopo, realizzi che si tratta della mano tatuata di Terry Richardson, che regge la borsa e la scarpa.
All’inizio, mi è sembrata quasi scioccante per la tensione emotiva che esprime, ed il senso dello scatto non potrebbe essere più chiaro.
Tutto parla di femminilità e sensualità. Dell’ottenere ciò che si desidera.
A ben guardare, i due accessori rappresentano una donna:
– La borsa simboleggia il lato sensuale. L’oggetto del desiderio è letteralmente afferrato dal suo ammiratore.
– La scarpa è il lato elegante ma pragmatico, agganciato al volo da questo moderno cavaliere.

Certamente i direttori creativi della maison, Maria Grazia Chiuri e Pierpaolo Piccioli, conoscono il loro target. Questa campagna punta verso la nuova generazione di fashionisti, che desiderano sempre apparire “diversi”, aggressivi, ma con eleganza.
La coppia di stilisti deve essere elogiata non solo per la creatività, ma anche per la scelta fatta al momento di individuare chi potesse esprimere al meglio il nuovo messaggio del brand.

I find this sandals are amazing! I’m loving more and more Le Silla, fist of all for the huge use of crystals in his collections, then because he always does such delicate things.
For me Le Silla’s Butteflies are precious scupltures and I wish a had a pair just to put them on a shelf as a design furniture piece, watch and wipe’em sometimes… I could even wear them in some extraordinary situation!
I’d keep them under glass, but once weared I could spread my heels anf fly.. like a butterfly..Trovo che questi sandali siano stupendi! Amo sempre di più Le Silla, prima di tutto per per il grande uso di cristalli nelle sue collezioni, poi perchè fa sempre cose così delicate.
Per me queste Butterflies di Le Silla sono delle sculture preziose e vorrei poterne averne un paio solo per esporle come un pezzo d’arredo, guardarle e spolverarle di tanto in tanto.. potrei persino indossarle in qualche occasione straordinaria!
Le terrei sotto una campana di vetro, ma appena indossate potrei spegare queste.. zeppe…e volare come una farfalla…

I’m a bootie bootie girl

One of my favourites shoe designers is, guess who? Manolo Blahnick! After all, it’s not difficult at all to love and adore his creations, since his name is written in the stars and not only there, indeed you can find him in fashion history books and in 2003 the Design Museum of London exhibited his works. So it didn’t happen by chance that the Posh Spice Victoria Beckham asked him to collaborate for the design of her shoe line for the SS13 collection. The mood of these booties is absolutely sexy and minimal, as Victoria’s style is, and the absence of the plateau makes them so chic and elegant! I’m definitely in love with these booties, and I’ll soon propose you a complete outfit for them, so stay tuned!

Uno dei miei designer preferiti in fatto di scarpe è, indovinate chi? Manolo Blahnik! Dopo tutto non è difficile amare ed adorare le sue creazioni, di lui si può già leggere sui libri di storia della moda, e nel 2003 il Design Museum di Londra gli ha dedicato un’intera esposizione. Quindi, non è certo per caso se la Posh Spice Victoria Beckham ha richiesto la collaborazione di Blahnik per la realizzazione della collezione PE13. Il Mood di questi stivaletti peep-toe è assolutamente sexy e minimal, proprio nelle corde di Victoria, e l’assenza del plateau li rende irresistibilmente chic ed eleganti! Sono proprio innamorata di queste scarpe, e presto ho intenzione di riproporvele in uno dei miei outfit, quindi continuate a seguirmi!

That’s the right pair for the Cinderella of our age! The little glass slipper has been replaced by PVC and sparkling crystals, and the final effect is still enchanting  as in the fairytale! I can’t imagine how excited I would be if I could wear them… well done Monsieur Louboutin, I think that if I had to choose between these babies and the Blue Prince, I could hardly keep the prince!!!

Ecco le scarpe adatte alla Cenerentola del nostro tempo! Le scarpette di vetro sono state sostituite da PVC e cristalli scintillanti, e l’effetto finale è sempre incantevole come nella fiaba! Non posso immaginare l’emozione di poterle indossare… Monsier Louboutin ha fatto un buon lavoro, penso che se dovessi scegliere fra queste piccoline ed il Principe Azzurro, difficilmente terrei il principe!!!

The reinvented studs

After a pair of seasons with plenty of studs, declined in every form and put on everything ( i found some on my pizza last friday :P), the style magician Tom Ford found out a new variation on the theme, transforming the studs into charms! What is the effect on a lady’s feet? She communicates she’s prepared at all events, she can softly swing with those charming pendants or she can hurt with her goden thorns!

Dopo un paio di stagioni piene di borchie, declinate in ogni forma e messe su qualunque cosa ( venerdì ne ho trovate alcune sulla pizza :P), il mago dello stile Tom Ford ha scoperto una nuova variazione sul tema, trasformando le borchie in charms! Qual è l’effetto sui piedini di una dama? Che lei comunica di essere preparata a tutto, può far odeggiare con grande charme i suoi pendenti oppure ferire trasformandoli in aculei dorati!
